Gene
Patient completed a 5 year degree at
Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical
University
. He obtained a Bachelor of
Science in Aviation Technology where he obtained his Airframe and Power Plant
License and certificate in Avionics. This
education proved to be very important in his success in racing.
During
his time working for other teams, Gene has been to 9 different wind tunnels in
3 different countries, including valuable time on a complete rolling road wind
tunnel in Germany. This experience along with his college degree have
provided a valuable aeronautical background.
In the summer of 1989, he began racing at a local track with his father.
This experience sparked a passion for racing that still is growing today.
1994 - Entered into a business venture with Danny Gill to build race
cars for local competitors. During
this time, they built everything from drag cars, street rods, late model race
cars, to off-road mud trucks.
1995 - Joined the Sadler Bros Racing team in
Nashville
,
TN.
This team was a part-time Winston
Cup team that ran a limited schedule. After
only a few months, Gene was promoted to Chief Fabricator.
1997 - Hired to be Chief Fabricator at newly formed LAR Motorsports.
This team ran a limited schedule in both the Winston Cup and Busch
series.
1999 - Hired to the newly formed #27 Castrol team at Brewco Motorsports.
During the first year of competition, they were able to win races and proved
to be competitive throughout the series season.
2001 - With his wife Miriam, he moved to
North Carolina
. Gene went to work for the newly
formed Evernham Motorsports. During
this time of building a new team, he was able to work with the industry’s
most talented people, and formed relationships that still prove valuable
today.
2002 - Returning home to
Tennessee
, Gene went to work for Bobby Hamilton Racing.
Gene was Chief Fabricator of the championship team of 2004 that won the
Craftsman Truck championship. The
relationship formed with the Dodge Corporation still continues today
2003
- Gene Patient Fabrication was formed on a part-time basis. His main client
was the
Nashville
based Sadler Bros Racing team. Gene
worked in their facilities after regular working hours at BHR and on weekends.

2005
- Gene signed a year contract to act as Aerodynamics Director and Chief
Fabricator at Brewco Motorsports in Central City, KY.
2006 - He opened the doors to Gene Patient Fabrication on a full-time basis.
He resides in
Milton
,
TN
with his wife, Miriam, and their daughter, Caroline.
